The Lake
A girl, the age of seventeen, stands at the edge of the forest. Where the line of trees end, and the lake begins. A new territory that she has never set foot in. A new world that she knows nothing about. She looks at the surface of the lake, and the moon that reflects off of it. The ripples breaking it apart.
From deeper in the forest, she hears the sound of the fairies giggling, of the flowers dancing in the wind, and her teacher. He calls for her to return to the forest, and she turns away from the lake. One day, she thinks, One day I will go beyond that lake. to the forest the stretches beyond it. One day, I will grow the courage to do so.
One day.
